Previously, Joyce worked in Investment Banking in the Healthcare group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  Joyce received a BBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University with a double major in Mathematics and Economics.

Capricorn Healthcare makes follow-on investment in HeartFlow 150 150 Martis Capital

Capricorn Healthcare announced that it participated in the Series E financing of HeartFlow, Inc. (“HeartFlow”), a medical technology company.  As reported by HeartFlow, the financing secured $240 million for the company and was led by Wellington Management and Baillie Gifford & Company.  HeartFlow will use the proceeds from this financing to ramp up commercial expansion of the HeartFlow® FFRct Analysis, continued technology innovation, and additional clinical studies.

Based in Redwood City, CA, HeartFlow offers a non-invasive technology that creates a personalized 3D model of the heart and simulates blood flow to help clinicians diagnose and treat patients with suspected heart disease. To date, the HeartFlow Analysis has been used by clinicians at more than 80 medical institutions around the globe to diagnose and treat more than 15,000 patients.  The Company seeks to transform how cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally, is treated in a more efficient, cheaper, and more accurate way.  Today, more than 185 million people in the US have insurance coverage for the HeartFlow Analysis.

Care Hospice Acquires Piedmont Hospice

Care Hospice Acquires Piedmont Hospice 150 150 Martis Capital

Capricorn Healthcare announced its portfolio company, Care Hospice (“Care”), closed its acquisition of Piedmont Hospice (“Piedmont”). Piedmont provides hospice care in South Carolina across its two offices in Greer and Charleston. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Through combining with Care’s existing hospice operation in South Carolina, the company will be able to extend its quality and compassionate care to more communities and patients. This transaction marks the seventh successful acquisition consummated by Care Hospice in the last four years and a continuation of the company’s strategy to build strong regional hospice programs across the US.

Through its investment, Capricorn will partner with Citizens’ executive team, who will continue to lead the company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Oak Park, IL, CitizensRx is a full-service Pharmacy Benefit Management provider for public and private companies, as well as health plans. The company provides “unbundled,” modular pharmacy benefit management services, including formulary management, claims processing, rebate administration, and a 67,000-location national pharmacy network.

Capricorn Healthcare (“Capricorn”) announced that it closed a transaction with Centria Healthcare (“Centria”), a provider of therapy for children with autism and other specialized home-based healthcare services. Through its investment, Capricorn will partner with Centria’s co-founders and executive team, who will continue to lead the company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Novi, MI, Centria is the largest provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (“ABA”) therapy for children with autism across the State of Michigan. The company has started expanding its ABA business into additional states including Arizona, California, Oregon, New Mexico, Texas and Washington. Centria is also a leading provider of specialized home-based healthcare services including catastrophic injury and rehabilitation care, private duty nursing, and supportive living services. Centria coordinates among multiple disciplines for its rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and respiratory care.
