Andrea Pekala has joined Martis Capital as CFO & Chief Compliance Officer, and will be based in the Washington, DC office. Prior to Martis Capital, Andrea was a Principal at The Carlyle Group, serving as the Deputy Head of the Fund Management group, overseeing the administration of Carlyle’s U.S. Growth Buyout and Mexico funds, among others, and headed up the strategic operations group. Andrea started her career at PwC. She received a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a CPA (currently non-active).

Joyce Zhang joined Capricorn Healthcare as an Associate in the Washington, DC office. Previously, Joyce worked in Investment Banking in the Healthcare group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Joyce received a BBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University with a double major in Mathematics and Economics.
Capricorn Healthcare announced that it participated in the Series E financing of HeartFlow, Inc. (“HeartFlow”), a medical technology company. As reported by HeartFlow, the financing secured $240 million for the company and was led by Wellington Management and Baillie Gifford & Company. HeartFlow will use the proceeds from this financing to ramp up commercial expansion of the HeartFlow® FFRct Analysis, continued technology innovation, and additional clinical studies.

Yosha Huang joined Capricorn Healthcare as an Associate in the Palo Alto, CA office. Previously, Yosha worked at Stifel Nicolaus as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Technology group. Yosha received a BA in Statistics from UC Berkeley.
Capricorn Healthcare announced its portfolio company, Care Hospice (“Care”), closed its acquisition of Piedmont Hospice (“Piedmont”). Piedmont provides hospice care in South Carolina across its two offices in Greer and Charleston. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Through combining with Care’s existing hospice operation in South Carolina, the company will be able to extend its quality and compassionate care to more communities and patients. This transaction marks the seventh successful acquisition consummated by Care Hospice in the last four years and a continuation of the company’s strategy to build strong regional hospice programs across the US.
Dupinder Singh joined Capricorn Healthcare as an Associate in the Palo Alto, CA office. Previously, Dupinder worked at RBC Capital Markets as an investment banking Analyst in the Healthcare group. Dupinder received a BS in Finance & Economics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Through its investment, Capricorn will partner with Citizens’ executive team, who will continue to lead the company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Oak Park, IL, CitizensRx is a full-service Pharmacy Benefit Management provider for public and private companies, as well as health plans. The company provides “unbundled,” modular pharmacy benefit management services, including formulary management, claims processing, rebate administration, and a 67,000-location national pharmacy network.
