Based in Washington, DC, Charlie joined Martis in 2021 and helps lead the firm’s investments in MBH and Archway. Prior to Martis, he worked at BV Investment Partners focused on tech-enabled business services investments. Earlier, Charlie worked in investment banking at William Blair & Company and in management consulting at Alvarez & Marsal. Charlie received a bachelor’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Notre Dame.

Healthcare-Focused Private Equity Firm Martis Capital Expands Team, Opens Miami Office 150 150 Martis Capital

Martis Capital has opened an office in Miami and hired two senior team members.

Beth Dresdale joined the firm as a principal on the value creation team and is based in the Miami office. Before Martis Capital, she was a principal focused on value creation at Incline Equity Partners. David Muckey, also based in the Miami office, joined Martis Capital as a director on the investment team. Before Martis Capital, he was a vice president at Gemspring Capital and earlier a vice president at Vector Capital.

The Miami office, located in Coconut Grove, is Martis Capital’s third location. The firm also has a presence in Washington, DC, and San Francisco.

“The growth of our firm enables us to continue to support company founders across the healthcare industry and deliver improved patient care,” said Barry Uphoff, founder and managing partner of Martis Capital. “We are delighted to attract two accomplished professionals in Beth and David and expand the Martis Capital geographic footprint to Florida.”

Earlier in her career, Dresdale led sales and commercial operations at A Place for Mom, a tech-enabled healthcare services company. She started her career at McKinsey & Company and Centerview Partners. Dresdale received a bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

Muckey started his career at Lazard Freres & Co. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Alcanza Clinical Research, a mission-focused investigator site network, has acquired Innovation Medical Research Center (Innovation), a multi-specialty clinical research center. This deal is a key part of Alcanza’s growth strategy, marking the ninth acquisition since 2021, and enabling the site network to expand its therapeutic area capabilities and diversity of study participants.

Located in Palmetto Bay, Fla., Innovation conducts Phase I to Phase IV clinical trials in key therapeutic areas such as cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, psychiatry, rheumatology, and women’s health.

Martis Capital and Din Ventures today announced an investment in Archway Dental Partners (Archway Dental), a dental platform with roots dating back more than 50 years, as Archway Dental aims to become a leading multi-specialty dental provider in New England and the Northeast.

Danbury, Connecticut-based Archway Dental was launched in partnership with Dental Associates of Connecticut (DACT), which was established in 1971. Building upon DACT’s longstanding dentist-owned and community-focused culture, Archway Dental supports 70 dentists across 23 locations in Connecticut providing integrated oral healthcare across all dental specialties.

Martis Capital, a middle-market private equity firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, is pleased to kick off 2024 with two investment team promotions. Aseem Nambiar has been promoted from Director to Principal, and David Zhang from Vice President to Director.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Aseem joined Martis in 2019 and helps lead the firm’s investments in DCN Dx, Lighthouse Lab Services and WellHaven PetHealth. Prior to Martis, he held an operating role at DaVita, following his time at Waud Capital and UBS. Aseem received a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Based in San Francisco, CA, David joined Martis in 2020 and helps lead the firm’s investments in Alcanza Clinical Research, Lighthouse Lab Services and Rise Health. He started his career at Barclays, then focused on middle-market buyout investing at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe and Calera Capital. David received a Bachelor in Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
