Capricorn Healthcare (“Capricorn”) announced that it closed a transaction with Care Hospice (“Care”), a regional provider of hospice care in 8 states operating 24 agencies. Through its investment, Capricorn will partner with Care’s founder and executive team, who will continue to lead the company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Charlottesville, VA, Care Hospice delivers compassionate, end-of-life care to patients facing a life-limiting illness. With a focus on addressing the patient’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, Care endeavors to provide every patient with comfort and dignity each day. The Company was founded in 2008 by current CEO, Brad Hunter, and today is comprised of six regional operations in various markets serving over 800 patients on a daily basis. Since inception, Care has demonstrated strong growth both organically and inorganically, undertaking six successful acquisitions in the last four years.
